A completed stone and timber home built with ACME structural insulated panels

Residential

Custom homes, additions, ADUs and cabins. We cut the shell to your drawings and your builder sets it. Most houses dry in inside a week.

For homeowners

You will notice it before you see the bill.

A panel wall is continuous insulation with almost nothing left to leak through. No stud every sixteen inches conducting cold straight through the assembly, and very few seams anywhere in the envelope.

What people tell us first is not the energy number. It is that the house is quiet, that the upstairs and the downstairs are finally the same temperature, and that the furnace does not kick on and off all evening. The savings show up later, usually around fifty percent against a code built house of the same size.

The other thing that changes is dust and pollen. A tight envelope with a proper ventilation system means the air coming in is the air you chose to bring in.

The three questions we get every week

Straight answers, before you ask.

What does it cost?

The panel package usually prices above a stick framed shell on the material line and below it once you add the framing labor, the sheathing, the insulation, the air sealing and the schedule you get back. Ask your builder to bid it both ways. We will give you a panel number in a few days so the comparison is real instead of theoretical.

My builder has never used panels.

That is normal and it is not a problem. Most crews set their first house with us on the phone and their second one without calling. We send numbered panels and a plan that matches, and someone from Radford is available during the set. If you would rather use somebody who has done it before, tell us where you are and we will give you names.

Will my county approve it?

Panels carry an ICC-NTA listing report, our own code report and the SIPA report. We work with engineers licensed in your state, so the stamped drawings that land on the plan reviewer's desk come from someone in their jurisdiction. This is the part people worry about and it is the part that almost never goes sideways.

Send us the plans when you have them.

Even a rough set is enough to get a number. Tell us the state and the square footage and we will take it from there.
